Jacques Geslin...........................Jacques was born in Jacmel in 1954. After graduating from secondary school where he always took first prize for art, in 1970 he entered the L'Ecole Des Beaux Arts where he learnt all that he could. He studied under Jean Rene Jerome, Raould Dupoux and the sculptor Gaston Hermann. Since 1978 he has had many exhibitions. Passionately fond of music and painting, he chose painting because he "has a tremendous love for it"----------------------------"Painting is a gift from God, it is something that flows in my veins. When I visited the art gallery with the school I was impressed by the paintings of Salnave Philippe Auguste. I liked the forests, how beautiful they were before deforestation. I had to choose something original. I painted birds in a jungle setting, toucans, parrots, imaginary birds. Then domestic animals, cocks and hens, sheep, doves pigeons. I had faith and hope in my country and in the restauration of peace. I left the jungle for the real Haiti."
