Henri Jean Louis was born in Jeremie in 1955. He started to paint in 1975 and rapidly made a name for himself. He took part in an exhibition at the Musee de l'Homme in Paris, along with other Haitian painters. He paints extremely delicate imaginary landscapes where distant objectsmelt into the softness of the blues and the waters shows multiple reflections of the vegetation. Due to serious illness, he was forced to stop working between 1982 and 1985 but was later able to resume his artistic quest into the immaterial quality of a landscape which is always idealized and unreal. He has taken part in a great number of international exhibitions and is represented in important galleries in Haiti as well as outside. (SOLD OUT)
