Raymond Lafaille was born in Port au Prince Haiti on July 29 1956. He was only 4 when he started to draw. He finished primary school at Tellion Guilbaud and secondary school at College Martin Luther King. He started to paint in watercolor at the of 13 and swich to acrylic and oil at 16. He is an artist all around. In his early years he played and teached the guitar, percussion and singing. From 1979 he devoted himself to painting. Lafaille use the same muted colors and dark shadows to depict street and market scenes like the more famous Claude Dambreville. Cantave Studio enjoys a great relationship with Lafaille and his family. He at times works exclusively for us (months) doing his best works.
